   I see you mentioned the location in Amador County…
   So I’m not sure which part of N. CA you’re set on. But how about the Sun City locations by Del Webb??
   The Lincoln location is by far the most well know of the local retirement locations in the area. I’ve driven through the neighborhood, and it’s brand new, clean, and has nice single family homes. It has easy access to Hwy 65, grocery stores, golf course, Galleria Mall…and Thunder Valley Casino
   Although it’s not gated, the area is SUPER safe. And the surrounding cities are great too (Lincoln, Roseville, Rocklin)

   There are several in Brentwood, try Somerset.

   crescent city has a great place and very cheap as well

   What area are you looking in?
   In San Jose/Silicon Valley, “The Villages” is very popular– you might not even be able to buy there!
