  1. Try volunteering at a local animal shelter to walk dogs…that’d be fun!

  2. go and volunteer at your local SPCA, do some dog walking….go to a seniors retirement home and read to them or if you have a pet, take the pet to the seniors, there’s lots of stuff, I’m sure you’ll find something!!

  3. volunteer at the library for the literacy or a tutoring program

  4. do it in a church

  5. help out at a homeless shelter, cooking, cleaning etc. You’ll benefit from doing this, helping others in dire need is a wonderful thing and you could learn a lot from it.

  6. volunteer at a senior center

  7. Boys and Girls club
    YMCA
    Parks and Rec. department.

  8. If you have to come up with your own ideas go to your community centers and salvation army, churches, and just tell them whats up most of the time they will have some thing there are alot of churches every where if you have been given set places to do it then the only I can say is hurry and do it, I would hate to see your whole life get ruined over a few hours of service. Now if you have to appear in court or something like that get as much done as you can all the way up to the last minute and let who ever you report to know how much you have left and they usually will let you finish it up with no penalty as long as you are honest about it and at least try!

  9. Soup Kitchen
    Nursing Home
Home for mentally and/or physically challenged childredn or adults
    Domestic Violence Shelter
Contact your local VFW, Rotary Association, City Hall, Police Department, Knights of Columbus, or your high school probably has a community service club.

  10. It all depends on what you want to do. let’s say for example that you like to read, then go to any Braille institute and read to the blind. If you like kids then donate your time to the children hospital, or if you like to help the community go and ask any youth programs around your community. if you are into religion, then go to your community church, or temple and help out feeding the poor. etc etc. It all depends on what you like to do

  11. I helped out at a women’s shelter once and it was on of the greatest experiences ever. It really makes you realize how lucky you are. It can be hard though when you see someone come in who has been obviously beaten or raped, especially with kids.

  12. Come to my house & CLEAN it for me! LOL
Call your library, Schools, Churches, Chamber of Commerce, City Hall etc.

  13. hospital volunteer because that looks good on references

  14. I had the same problem just a few years ago in HS. What I did was I got the principal to create a “class” that I could get a credit for and I also logged service hours. I helps the ITS guy around campus during lunch. I also went to the elementary school and read to the first graders. I did work in main office, and I even cut grass on the atletic fields. There are lots of things that you can do that dont seem like community service that really are. Good luck. If you still need help email me at “lewisj1@citadel.edu”. My name is Josh.

  15. volunteer at nursing home.

  16. get your parents or parent’s friends to sign off saying you did all the hours, helping them at their job picking up trash or w/e.
I basically went to a retirement home, the lady that worked there was pretty nice and told me just to sweep the stairs for half an hour and she’ll sign my papers worth of 40 hr community service.
    you’ll find a way.

  17. JUst go to a church or a library….or maybe being a T.A. for a teacher after school….

  18. I would try the Humane society, the ARC and Good Will. They always have need for assistance. Hospitals are a good option as well. One last idea: Low-income daycare centers. Have you thought of a church or place of worship? Thanks for helping your community.

  19. Volunteer around your school, or your neighborhood. Ask your teachers/ fellow neighbors to see what you can do for them. A little work can go a long way.

  20. YOU COULD VOLUNTEER AT A HOSPITAL OR NURSING HOME, THEY ALWAYS TAKE VOLUNTEERS-A COUPLE SATURDAYS AND YOU’LL BE DONE. YOU COULD VOLUNTEER AT A LOCAL YMCA, BOYS & GIRLS CLUB, ETC…IF ALL THAT IS TOO MUCH, YOU COULD ASK YOUR NEIGHBORS IF THEY NEED ANY HELP WITH MOWING THE LAWN OR BABYSITTING, AND INSTEAD OF GETTING PAID, LOG IN THE HOURS AS HOURS YOU’VE VOLUNTEERED AND HAVE THEM SIGN OFF FOR IT. ALSO, YOU COULD LISTEN TO THE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS TO SEE IF ANY OF YOUR SCHOOL’S CLUBS(I.E. NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY) IS VOLUNTEERING ANYWHERE (B/C THAT WHAT THEY DO) OR IF ANY OF YOUR SPORTS TEAMS ARE HAVING A CARWASH AND YOU COULD HELP THEM OUT….THOSE COULD ALL BECOME VOLUNTEER HOURS.

  21. I suggest looking up your local humane society to see if there are any openings as well as local hospitals. The hospitals usually have a department for volunteers. While it seems that you are in a time crunch, I may also suggest looking up non-profit organizations in the yellow pages or local listings that always welcome help.

  22. Hi my name is Earlena and the best thing you can do is help around the school areas and or ask your principal if there’s anything you can do to help fix around the school like the school show boards or even little things like helping out around the office like copying papers delivering them to the proper classes like i have done and it helped me and now i am graduating out of High School so if you think you can give that a shot go for it. Bye
