  1. I sold a manufactured home in Bend in 2005 and did very well. If you are thinking of buying in a park setting I would reconsider, Bend has had several parks be sold recently and are now being developed with site built homes. In my opinion a site built home is better in nearly every way to a manufacture Home. I have had both and did well with each. I would also advise you to never, ever buy a home without the land it is on. This is a tremendous mistake in my book. In terms of efficiency my site built home was larger, with two floors and my heating costs were lower than my manufactured home. Not that it was bad with the manufactured home. I also would say that a heat pump system in the Bend area is not that great in my experience. Good luck.

  2. I live in a mobile home, in Florida. It was a much better deal than renting, we have so much more room and also could not afford a house. I love it. I was a little nervous considering what can happen in a hurricane, but that is what insurance is for. I would say go for it. It will be yours, which is so much better than renting.

  3. I have my own personal opinion on mobile homes in general, but in Oregon they tend to be hard to resell. Bend in particular is experiencing a severe market slowdown on all forms of real estate.
