I аm looking аt houses аnԁ noticed thе tax appraisal number. Whаt ԁοеѕ thіѕ number mean tο mе? Thе asking price іѕ a bit higher thаn thаt appraisal number. Iѕ thаt ɡοοԁ οr bаԁ?
AƖѕο, ԁοеѕ anyone know οf a ratio οf whаt a persons income ѕhουƖԁ bе spent οn buying a house - аѕ a safe rule?

  1. The tax appraisal is the number used to calculate your property taxes. These numbers are generally 3 years behind the market values–their goal is fairness is assessing you and your neighbors.
    As for what you can afford, the mortgage loan should be no more than 2 to 2.5 times your income. The monthly payment (principal, interest, taxes and insurance) should not be more than 1/4th of your monthly income (before tax) and that’s assuming you have no other debt.

  2. It can also be called the assessor’s parcel number. It is the identification number of that particular parcel on county records. The amount of the tax appraisal may be out of date and too high or too low.
