I аm selling mу home bу owner. Nοt sure οf whаt fees I wіƖƖ pay. I ԁο know I hаνе tο pay a title company bυt whаt еƖѕе????

  1. check with your state – in nj you need a water test and a certificate of occupancy also – besides the other fees mentioned.

  2. It all depends on the state that you live in. Not every state has stamp or transfer taxes. The bottom line is that everything can be negotiated between you and the buyer. If you have someone uneducated and never bought a home before you can probably talk them into paying all the fees involved. On the flip side depending on how bad you want to sell the home you may want to pay closing costs or at least a portion of them.

  3. Clear title, state fees, the expense of hiring an attorney to look over all your paperwork (necessary!), any prepayment fees you may have on your mortgage, any closing costs that may have been negotiated by the buyer, property taxes and insurance up to the date of occupancy.
